    Many newly admitted students are required to complete a diagnostic assessments in reading, writing and mathematics.  Consult your placement results before registering.  If you have questions about your results, please contact your academic advisor for guidance.
  • Review Your Interactive Degree Audit Report (DARS)
    The Interactive Degree Audit / DARS report is a degree planning tool for students that includes both transfer and Metropolitan State coursework. You can access your Interactive Degree Audit / DARS report through eServices.
  • Discuss transfer appeals with your advisor
    Students with questions about the transferability of coursework may appeal for re-evaluation of specific courses.  Information about the process and access to the appropriate form is available through the Registrar's Office.
  • Be aware of important deadlines
    Please consult the Academic Events Calendar and the Registrarís home page for important deadlines related to dropping or withdrawing from courses.
  • Look for course prerequisites when you register
    When registering for courses, click on the course title to check for required prerequisite courses.  Do not register for a course if you lack the prerequisite.

    The Registrar's home page describes important policies related to registration, including deadlines for dropping, adding, and withdrawing from classes.
  • Know the GELS and the Graduation Requirements
    These requirements are described in an online document entitled General Education and Liberal Studies Requirements (GELS).  This helpful tool summarizes the Graduation Requirements, explains the General Education and Liberal Studies Requirements (including each of the ten General Education goal areas defined by the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum), and lists Metropolitan State University courses which meet each of the ten General Education goal areas.
