Inspire middle and high school students to study mathematics. Prepare for a Minnesota Mathematics Teaching License. Gain a solid grounding in the areas of statistics, calculus, analysis, geometry, modeling and abstract algebra. You will accomplish these goals with a degree in Mathematics Teaching. Teach 5th-8th graders and 9th-12th graders to solve real-world problems through mathematical reasoning. Upon completion of the Mathematics Teaching BS and Urban Secondary Education Licensure, you will also:

  • Build a solid foundation in statistics, calculus, analysis, geometry, modeling, and abstract algebra.
  • Gain the teaching tools to teach diverse students in an urban setting.
  • Engage students through inquiry activities, projects, exploration of issues, and technology use.
  • Develop skills in planning instruction, guiding learning, and assessing student performance.
