The College of Health, Community and Professional Studies (CHCPS), known for "Quality and Innovation through Partnership," and innovation in teaching, advising, research and service, is comprised of the School of Nursing, and the Dental Hygiene, Human Services, Psychology and Social Work departments.

Programs in CHCPS serve as the University vanguard in areas of professional development and community involvement. Through various partnerships, all departments provide customized learning and opportunities to apply knowledge through experiential learning and research. The Human Services department sponsors an annual Career Fair for students in addition to training opportunities for practitioners; and the Center for Psychological Research in the Psychology department provides collaborative research opportunities between faculty and students as well as monthly professional development opportunities, in collaboration with the Minnesota Psychological Association.

The Dental Hygiene Department offers a BS completion program for dental hygienists with an associate degree as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate for those preparing to enter the master's program. The MS in Advanced Dental Therapy program is preparing students to become licensed as Dental Therapists and certified as Advanced Dental Therapists. We are the first university in the nation to offer this program; the first class graduated in 2011. The program operates a dental clinic in Maplewood, MN, which is the primary practice site for advanced dental therapy students.

School of Nursing programs have been recognized for their creative approaches to curriculum development at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral level. Programs are offered entirely online or with a combination of online and face to face courses at six sites across the Twin Cities. As recognized clinicians, nursing faculty bring practical knowledge and current research to the learning environment. Additionally the school is known for its high quality holistic education which prepares students to be successful in today's complex health care environment.

The College continues to be committed to developing undergraduate and graduate programs to meet the needs of the diverse communities and organizations in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area.
