The intention of the Academic Standing policy is to encourage students encountering academic difficulty to take the steps necessary to succeed in their courses and to complete their degrees.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please Note Changes to University Academic Standing Policy (#2050)
Effective Fall Semester, 2008
http://www.metrostate.edu/policies/index.cfm

To stay in good academic standing, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better AND a cumulative completion rate of at least 66.66% or higher for all credits for which they have registered at Metropolitan State university.  Courses are considered successful with grades of S or D or higher.    Courses with grades of F, N, I, W, or missing are considered unsuccessful.

Students who do not meet these standards are placed on Academic Probation.  Students on Academic Probation who fall below these cumulative standards in their next term of registration will be dismissed for academic reasons, unless their term GPA is 2.25 or better AND their term completion rate is 75% or better.

A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better is required for graduation.
See university policy 2050 for full details of the current Academic Standing policy, effective fall 2008.  http://www.metrostate.edu/policies/index.cfm
