Biography
Suanne Barthol, DBA, joined the College of Management as a resident faculty member in January 2023. Dr. Barthol received her DBA degree with a focus on Project Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. She also has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and her BA from the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University. Dr. Barthol has also obtained her Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Before pursuing an academic career, Dr. Barthol has over two decades of experience in the Twin Cities metro area financial services industry. She has held roles of individual front-line production to the Director of Operations. She was also involved in numerous digital innovations, information systems integrations, and enhancements.
Previously, Dr. Barthol was an Assistant Professor at Wittenberg University, where she received the Omicron Delta Kappa Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022. She has also held positions at St. Catherine University and the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.
Dr. Barthol's research interests meet at the intersection of people, process, and technology, focusing on the impacts on the project management process.
