Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based program that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. Metro State is excited to offer MHFA trainings to students, staff, and faculty. This training is held via Zoom, with the link to be sent to confirmed participants.
The Mental Health First Aid Training is approximately an 8–10-hour time commitment. This includes:
2.5 hours self-paced online course (prework)
5.5 hours instructor-led training (via Zoom)
Final quiz and survey
Participants must complete the self-paced online course prior to the instructor-led training. Participants are required to attend the entirety of the instructor-led training in order to receive certification. Zoom sessions require participants to have cameras on throughout the instructor-led training
There are two Mental Health First Aid Trainings offered during Summer 2024 semester:
May 28, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
June 5, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
