Biography
At the heart of Ms. Sullivan's work is engagement in an equitable, anti-racist, and trauma-responsive manner. Ms. Sullivan has a significant number of years in higher education and higher education leadership. She has taught and served in leadership roles in Student Affairs, prior to and during her current role at Metro State University. Ms. Sullivan also has significant experience investigating and providing education and awareness regarding nondiscrimination matters, including Title IX. Highlights of her other higher education roles and responsibilities include interim director for student rights and responsibilities, student complaint officer, conflict resolution and mediation facilitator, and reviewer for satisfactory academic appeals, maximum time frame appeals, and petition reviews. With her leadership in her prior role, Minneapolis College developed the Student Support Center into a model for delivery of basic needs and non-academic support services within the Minnesota State System and other college systems. The center received the Minnesota State Innovative Services in Academic and Student Affairs award in 2016. Ms. Sullivan also has several years of experience in the legal field having practiced law and worked in other related positions.
Ms. Sullivan completed the Luoma Leadership Academy in 2018 and has served on several committees and workgroups. She has earned a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from Mitchell Hamline College of Law and has completed significant work toward her EdD.
