Professor lektor at Gothenburg and Trolhaettan Universities, Sweden 1992–2007; professor at Metro State University, Saint Paul, MN 2007-2022. Retired as emerita; remains rostered in Sweden.

Numerous conference presentations and publications on sociolinguistics; linguistics in fiction; human rights. Active in student and faculty exchanges in Sweden and the U.S.
