Biography
Michelle Palmborg joined the College of Nursing and Health Sciences in fall of 2021 as an assistant professor of Nursing. Michelle completed her doctor of nursing practice (DNP) with a focus in leadership, transcultural nursing, and holistic nursing in May of 2019 from Augsburg University. Michelle became a registered nurse in January of 2011, and has primarily worked in acute care in the emergency department, and currently in oncology. Michelle's educator background began in 2015 working as adjunct faculty at Saint Catherine University for prelicensure nursing students.
Michelle currently sits on the board of directors for the BRIDGE to Nursing, a nonprofit organization.
In 2020, Michelle had the honor to present with Minnesota Governor Walz at his November press conference entitled, 'One Minnesota, we are in this together: Frontline workers address worsening COVID-19 situation.'
Michelle's passion is in cultural humility, dismantling health disparities, and encouraging nurses to de-emphasize their expert role in order to become citizen nurses.
Michelle has presented at the Annual Health Disparities conference in New Orleans, and at The Nobel Prize Peace Forum in Minneapolis.
