Major job duties
• Meet one-to-one or small group with TRIO undergraduate students who need academic assistance (general tutoring/college skill strategies).
• Maintain and develop mentorship with Metro State students.
• Assist TRIO SSS advisors with creating and participating in engaging activities/events for TRIO SSS students.
• Assist with inputting data in our CRM database (Right Now & Student Access).
• Attend and participate in ongoing trainings.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and experience
TRIO SSS currently seeks students with strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills to assist fellow Metro TRIO students.
Responsibilities include:
- fostering meaningful connections with peers
- create engaging and inclusive experiences
Tasks also involve:
- maintaining accurate computerized records
- work independently with minimal supervision
- reach out to students
- proficient in tutoring
- explaining, teaching subjects and making appropriate referrals to Metro tutoring center for additional support
Priority for selection will be with students who have successfully completed a semester at Metro State.
