Major job duties
-Weekly/bi-weekly check-in with supervisor, NHD site supervisor, and teacher
-Assist with middle/high school student's history projects such as identifying topics, helping with citations, and others
-Work closely with middle/high school teachers to ensure student's history project is within guidelines
-Meet on-site (middle/high school) to mentor students
-Build and maintain relationships with students, staff, NHD staff, Metro staff
-Attend judge training hosted by National History Day (NHD) organization
-Evaluate and review projects submitted by 6-12 graders
-Understand and have a strong knowledge of the NHD rubrics
-Communicate with Metro Supervisor + NHD Site Supervisor
-Serve as a judge for NHD local, state, and regional level competition

Qualifications and experience
-Seeking 2-3 National History Day Interns with strong communication skills, time management skills, and problem-solving skills.
-National History Day Interns should display professional behaviors such as being punctual, team-oriented, strong communication, problem-solving skills, reliable, self-motivated, strong attention to details, and more.
-National History Day Interns should have a strong interest in working with middle school and/or high school students.
-National History Day Interns should have a research background (asking questions, gathering information, and analyzing and evaluating information to draw conclusions).
-National History Day Interns should possess technical skills such as Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e-mail(google, outlook, etc), and basic computer skills.
-Must have reliable transportation to and from site (The NHD Organization can reimburse transportation cost up to $140).
-Prefer history majors, but accepting other majors
