Major job duties
• Provide administrative assistance to the Student Parent Center Coordinator
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and well-kept space in the Food Pantry and Student Parent Center for all visitors
• Participate in planning and executing events for Student Parents and their families
• Create flyers and promotional materials
• Keep inventory of items provided through the SPEC program (Student Parent Early Childhood program)
• Pack and distribute monthly supplies to SPEC participants (September-November; January-July)
• Assist with collecting and organizing data concerning Metro State University’s student parent population
• Maintain positive, professional relationships with Student Health and Basic Needs staff
• Demonstrate maturity, sensitivity, and confidentiality when working with Student Parents’ data and personal information
• Demonstrate maturity, sensitivity, and confidentiality in situations requiring intervention by professional staff or Campus Safety
• Perform other duties as assigned by Student Health and Basic Needs professional staff
Qualifications and experience
Required:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including professional and polite telephone etiquette
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office to create and maintain digital records
• Able to work 10-20 hours per week on Monday-Fridays between 9:00 am – 4:30 pm
• Eligible for Work Study through Metro State University
Preferred:
• At least one full semester completed at Metropolitan State University
• Experience in customer service or a basic needs support position
• Ability to support and serve diverse student, staff, and faculty populations
• Familiar with Canva or Adobe to design promotional materials
