Center for Psychological Research

Mission

The Center for Psychological Research (CPR)'s mission is to support psychological research and the dissemination of research findings. CPR facilitates psychological, social and behavioral research efforts, particularly in diverse urban communities. The CPR supports research by the faculty and students at Metropolitan State University, but individuals at other institutions and in other areas are affiliated with the Center. Anyone conducting psychological, social, or behavioral research, particularly in urban contexts, may seek affiliation with the Center.

Conferences and events

The CPR hosted annual research conferences (Psychology Colloquium Series) at Metropolitan State during 2011-2015.

In 2016, the CPR because a charter co-sponsor for the Metropolitan State Student Research Conference, which hosts an annual Conference each April and a Poster Session each November.

The CPR also hosts invited research presentations through sponsorship of the Cognitive Psychology Colloquium Series and other forums. The CPR assists students in presenting their research at external events such as the meetings of the Minnesota Undergraduate Research Conference (MUPC), the Midwestern Psychological Association (MPA) and the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP).
