CRIM 290 Professional Peace Officer SKILLS Practicum
This course meets Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) learning objectives pertaining to the performance of peace officer duties and tasks, and the tools, tactics, and techniques of professional peace officer education. This course is part of the ¿skills¿ curriculum.
Note: Formerly known as LAWE 290. Special permission required. Only students accepted into the SKILLS practicum may register for this course.

Learning outcomes
General
- Demonstrate defensive tactics and arrest proficiency.
- Demonstrate firearms proficiency through passing firearms training requirement.
- Demonstrate the academic knowledge and skills requirements of law enforcement; including laws, procedures, and best practices.
- Prepare students to successfully complete Minnesota State Board of Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Board's objectives and complete the POST exam.
