MGMT 675 Competitive Intelligence

Competitive intelligence practices support the decision-making process, choice-making, action-taking, planning, and strategy development (DCAPS) via transforming data for any organization. This course as a multidisciplinary course is designed to foster students to craft competitive intelligence programs for any sized-firms in and outside of the commercial, and private sectors, and to develop implementation plans to formulate and implement intelligence-driven strategies and tactics. Students will also be introduced to the Business Wargaming tools used to formulate, test, and implement strategies.

Learning outcomes

General

  • Identify the fundamentals of competitive intelligence to foster strategic thinking in the business environment.
  • Define perspectives on a variety of practical analytical tools and techniques, mindsets, skill-sets, and datasets for assessing information concerning environments, markets, and organizations.
  • Understand ethical and legal conduct in competitive intelligence practices.
  • Assess the link between innovation, technology, and competitive intelligence.
  • Develop a competitive intelligence program and implementation plan for the program to enhance the intelligence-driven decision-making process.
