MIS 683 Process Analysis and Design

This course was created to give students a thorough look at the discipline of process analysis and design, workflow analysis and process reengineering. It uses a highly visual approach to both designing and communicating process analysis. Students will learn to properly analyze, design and build the main visualizations for process analysis including flowcharts, data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams and others as tools for communicating management designs.

  • Describe an operational definition of a business process
  • Exhibit a broad range of techniques that will help to describe and analyze business processes
  • Demonstrate which analytical skills likely to be needed for a business process analysis project
  • Recommend ways in which IT enables more flexible business processes
  • Demonstrate an understanding of business process modeling
  • Explain and create a business process of an organizational product or service
