NURS 398 Professional Growth Nursing Internship
This course guides students to analyze current clinical practice situations in nursing through the lens of academic learning in the RN-BSN program. Students will conduct critical reflection and analysis of real-world work scenarios for professional growth, with special attention to program themes of holism, anti-racism, and health equity. A specific learning assessment between faculty and each student will be completed to determine the focus for the current semester.

Learning outcomes
General
- Demonstrate reflective thinking skills in professional nursing practice, including a focus on addressing health inequity related to racism.
- Analyze a clinical nursing practice situation through a theoretical lens, including components of health equity.
- Compare and contrast communication strategies to mitigate inequity in a clinical nursing practice situation with patients, families, coworkers, and/or members of the health care team.
- Discuss relevance of holistic nursing, global health, and/or health equity principles in a clinical nursing practice situation.
