NURS 757 Innovations in Practice and Leadership

In this course, students will gain the knowledge, skills, and ethical comportment necessary for the doctorally prepared nurse to lead within organizations. The course is designed to equip the student with strategies needed to excel in a wide range of settings by applying leadership principles and theories to real-world situations focused on fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, civility, resiliency, and well-being.

General

  • Develop a personal leadership philosophy.
  • Apply leadership principles, theories, and strategies to support an interprofessional team with a culture of civility, well-being, and resiliency in healthcare settings.
  • Lead an error analysis of a situation in a healthcare setting.
  • Model ethical decision-making to devise a solution to a practice dilemma.
  • Mentor others in intentional presence and professional development.
