TCID 303 Workplace Writing with Generative Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) is used in workplace writing and communication practices. This course offers a basic understanding of core concepts relevant to AI writing tools. Students will be prepared to use AI writing tools in responsible, ethical, and productive ways for technical and non-technical audiences. Students are introduced to generative AI tools and learn to design effective prompts to help with the writing process.
Note: Students have completed 30 credits and have their writing requirement fulfilled.

General
- Describe the ways in which key concepts relevant to artificial intelligence and machine learning, including neural networks, natural language processing, deep learning, large language models (LLMs), and intellectual property, apply to writing.
- Use AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grafi.ai) to generate and evaluate workplace writing artifacts.
- Recognize the ethical, legal, and intellectual effects of leveraging AI writing tools when communicating complex information.
