Congratulations calls of 2022 #MetroStateGrads2022 Metro State University

We are once again pleased to be able to celebrate the 970 new graduates of Metro State's bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs at this 110th commencement exercise in person at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This spring's graduating class brings the university's alumni total to 51,003.

Commencement has been scheduled in three separate times to accommodate the graduates, their families, and the hosting facility. The celebrations will also be video streamed on the university website for those who are not in attendance.

The morning exercises, starting at 10:30 a.m., recognize the College of Liberal Arts, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the College of Sciences. Afternoon exercises, starting at 2:30 p.m., recognize the College of Community Studies and Public Affairs, College of Individualized Studies, and the School of Urban Education. Evening exercises, starting at 6 p.m., recognize the College of Management.

Student Speakers will include Hafsa Hussein, member of the Metropolitan State University Student Association Board; Shayde Stephens, President's Outstanding Student Recipient, of the College of Liberal Arts; HaoPay Lee, President's Outstanding Student Recipient, of the College of Community Studies and Public Affairs; and Sudeep Das, President's Outstanding Student Recipient, of the College of Management.

Other commencement participants include:

  • Virginia "Ginny" Arthur, J.D., Metropolitan State University president
  • Dr. Matthew Filner, president of the Inter-Faculty Organization
  • Dr. Amy Gort, provost and executive vice president for Academic and Student Affairs
  • Ms. Kristine Hansen, Alumni Relations director
  • Ms. Cheryl Tefer, Minnesota State Board of Trustees member
