Here's to Conflict! A Surprising View of Political Polarization" featuring guest speaker George Lakey

MAPL invites you to an event with longtime activist and educator, George Lakey.
Join us on Friday, September 29, at 5 p.m. in the Great Hall for a talk entitled:

"Here's to Conflict! A Surprising View of Political Polarization."

Light refreshments are available at this free event.

George Lakey has wide experience organizing for change. He organized his Philadelphia neighborhood to defeat the city's attempt to cut down all its street trees, and helped another neighborhood to bring down its crime rate through block organizing. He organized city and statewide coalitions of labor unions, religious denominations, civil rights groups, and environmentalists. On a national level he helped build an alliance of peace and labor groups that defeated in Congress a major Air Force weapons proposal. His research-enriched experience enabled him to lead over 1500 training workshops on five continents and receive the Martin Luther King, Jr. Peace Award. His 11 books include many stories from his experience, especially How We Win and Dancing with History.
