Mlima's Tale by Lynn Nottage with a graphic of an elephant superimposed over a picture of a man

Join Theater Underground and the Fine Arts Department for this performance by Ten Thousand Things Theater, an innovative, award winning company of actors that travels all over with very little in the way of props, set, or other production elements in order to bring exciting live theater to people and places that would otherwise not be able to participate. Theater students are invited to attend for extra credit.

This performance is free and open to the public with reservations (required).

Directed by Ansa Akyea
Music by Dameun Strange

Featuring Brian Bose, Katie Bradley, Joy Dolo, Clay Man Soo, and Will Sturdivant

This enthralling play by Lynn Nottage, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Ruined and Sweat, centers on the ivory trade, following the tusks and spirit of the magnificent elephant Mlima, from his home in Kenya through Vietnam and then China. Nottage tells the fascinating story in a daringly original way, asking us to reflect on the collective consequences of human action.
