Metro State Theater and Theater Underground brings Ten Thousand Things' enchanting production of "This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing" by Finegan Kruckemeyer to campus. This captivating modern fairy tale follows three sisters on their remarkable journeys of self-discovery.
Directed by Markell Kiefer and featuring original music by Julie Johnson, this production brings together an exceptional cast with special Metro State connections, including alumna Joy Dolo and Community Faculty member Marisa B. Tejeda, alongside Katie Bradley, Maggie Chestovich, Tyson Forbes, and Ashawnti Sakina Ford.
In this moving story, three young sisters are left in a forest by their woodcutter father and must find their own paths in the world. One walks away to find purpose, another seeks adventure, and the third stays to create a home. After years of individual journeys—spanning continents, crossing oceans, taming wilds, and achieving greatness—the sisters reunite as women and equals.
This production is free and open to the community. For more information, contact Jonathan Beller at 612.659.7157 or jonathan.beller@metrostate.edu.
