Two new degree options are now offered through the College of Individualized Studies: a Master of Arts (MA) and a Master of Science (MS) in Individualized Studies. To meet their unique educational goals, students in the program design their own individualized program by combining courses offered in existing graduate programs at Metropolitan State.
The University’s first undergraduate program was an individualized program designed to meet the educational needs of experienced working adults. That program is still going strong at the College of Individualized Studies. Graduates of the individualized MA/MS program will be highly skilled interdisciplinary learners, with skills and ability to link theoretical and experiential learning.
The individualized MA/MS degree is perfect for students whose learning needs are clearly defined but are not met by existing graduate programs at Metropolitan State. Students will be able to develop individualized programs using university resources and relying mainly on the high-quality graduate courses already offered through other colleges at the university. We expect that these programs will attract highly diverse students like the rest of the university’s student body, reflective of the dynamic Twin Cities Metro area.
This graduate program begins Fall 2019. Contact the Graduate Program Director, Professor Daniel Woldeab at daniel.woldeab@metrostate.edu with questions regarding these two graduate programs.
