Four works by student and alumni have been selected for acquisition by the Metropolitan State University Art Exhibition Committee in the 2018 Art Purchase Award.
Selected works include two acrylic paintings by alumnus Adam Bucher of Saint Paul, titled “Communication”and “Face”; a gouache painting by alumna Susan Solomon of Saint Paul, titled “For Now She Closed Her Eyes”; and a colored-pencil drawing by student Lynn Vincent of White Bear Lake, titled “Healing Echinacea.”
To encourage the growth and development of student and alumni studio artists and to elevate the profile of the arts on campus, the Art Exhibition Committee orchestrated four $1,000 purchases on the basis of artistic merit.
The placements of the works are yet to be determined.
