Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,
We have continued to monitor the weather and forecasts for the rest of the afternoon and evening. As a result, Metropolitan State University will be CLOSED, beginning at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 7. A closure means that all classes and activities, including student activities, are CANCELLED. The cancellation will take effect at all of our class locations, including any partner campus locations. Please be sure to collect all of your belongings and vacate the campus no later than 3:15 p.m. Please refer to the chart below for information specific to your class location.
We will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the night on Thursday. We will post the status of the University’s opening on Friday, February 8 to the website by 5:30 a.m. Friday. Please check the website after 5:30 a.m. on Friday for any delay or closure information. For updates on road conditions, visit www.511mn.org.
As always, we encourage employees and students to use their best judgment about remaining safe on the roads and in transit. Employees should work with their supervisor if they have concerns about coming to work when the University is open and we encourage supervisors to be as flexible as possible. We also ask faculty to be as flexible as possible with students who are unable to attend.
Human Resources will send a separate message to employees about how to report their time during the closure period.
