Program eligibility requirements
Upon admission to the university, students aspiring to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity will be granted pre-major status and assigned an academic advisor from the College of Sciences.
For acceptance into the Cybersecurity major, students must submit an Undergraduate Program Declaration Form when the following conditions are met:
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 for ICS 265 and MATH 215 or transfer equivalents.
- Have a grade of C- or higher for all major prerequisites;
- Completed the General Education Goal I Writing Requirement; and
- Demonstrated competency in the "C programming language" either by coursework (e.g., ICS 265) or by passing a "C Programming" competency exam.
Students with pre-major status are not permitted to enroll in any 400-level courses within the major. The Computer Science and Cybersecurity (CSC) Department is responsible for officially admitting students into this major and evaluating the equivalence and eligibility of transfer coursework.
