Registration appeals

The registration appeal process exists for students who, due to extenuating circumstances beyond their control, are seeking one or both of the following:

  • Removal from course(s) after the drop or withdrawal deadline has passed 
  • Refund/reversal of the tuition and fees

Incomplete appeals will be denied

  • The appeal form requires you to select one category from the below that best fits your circumstances 
  • All criteria indicated beneath your selected category must be met

Medical

  • Statement written and signed by a healthcare provider
    • On business letterhead, or sent from their professional email address
    • Clearly indicating:
      • Nature and date of injury, diagnosis, or treatment 
      • The circumstances prevented your participation in the course(s)
  • The following cannot be accepted:
    • Post-visit documentation from clinic or online patient portal including:
      •  After-visit summary, discharge statement, prescription, or medication list

Death 

  • Evidence of passing, which could include:
    • Death certificate, obituary notice, or burial service program
  • If decedent was a family member, and the documentation does not verify that relationship, also include:
    •  Birth certificate, or signed statement from healthcare or legal professional

Military 

  • Copy of orders for deployment/active duty 

University Error

  • Complete description of circumstances in Personal Statement field (on the appeal form)
  • Documentation from university representative that verifies error or misinformation, which could include:
    • Written statement or email, proof of service request/ticket you submitted, or copy of erroneous course information (from syllabus or online schedule)

Other

  • Complete description of circumstances in Personal Statement field (on the appeal form)
  • Relevant supporting documentation

For all categories, coursework from one semester will be considered. Only if circumstances escalated or changed would coursework from an additional semester be considered.
